Reality and the other reality: presentation of the work

Reality and the other reality: presentation of the work

On June 26, the University of Azuay and its publishing house held the book launch of "Reality and the Other Reality" by Marco Tello; an event in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by authorities, teachers and administrative staff of our university community, family and friends of the author and the general public.

This work is a careful compilation of micro-essays published by the author between 1966 and 2024 in various media; it addresses the use of language, portraits of prominent figures, fictional stories with dreamlike overtones, and personal memoirs. With a reflective style, it offers an intimate and critical look at various topics.

The event began with remarks from Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who expressed his joy at having two scholars of the language present. He noted that it was a day of celebration, as a new book was being presented, which, thanks to its careful editing and writing, allows for its full enjoyment.

Gonzalo Ortíz Crespo, a member of the Ecuadorian Academy of Language, addressed the audience, expressing his satisfaction at being present at the presentation of the work. He emphasized that the texts have been compiled with great dedication and a notable sense of self-criticism. It is a selection of various articles carefully crafted, the fruit of a love for the language and ongoing intellectual dialogue, with the goal of leaving, on each page, a "little bit" of knowledge.

The author launched the book, thanking the authorities for making the publication of his book possible and allowing him to explore the past through his writing. He explained that the book is a rigorous selection of micro-essays previously published in traditional media.
