Delivery of certificates for the PAME program, seventh cycle of impact at the University of Azuay

On April 01st, at the University of Azuay, in conjunction with the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and the Department of Outreach, certificates were awarded to students and beneficiaries of the PAME program, an event aligned with the sustainable development goals.

The event was attended by authorities, professors, administrative staff and students from our university community, beneficiaries, businesspeople and the general public.

Today, certificates were awarded to 16 entrepreneurs and 51 students, who, together with their tutor teachers, worked for a year to achieve the objectives of the 7th work cycle (February – December 2025).

This year, PAME has partnered with public and private institutions such as: Fundación Avanzar, Cuenca Chamber of Commerce, Cuenca Municipal Economic Development Company, Cuenca Partners, Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade and Investments, and Fundación Inspira.

At the start of the event, the Rector of the University of Azuay, Francisco Salgado, mentioned feeling “proud of our young people who have contributed their work and talent so that entrepreneurs can make their dreams come true.” He emphasized that the PAME program involves the university with those who need it most, adding, “What better way to show that our Faculty of Administrative Sciences is contributing so that more people can make their ventures a reality and, above all, have a dignified life?”

According to Oswaldo Merchán, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, the university, and in particular the University of Azuay, “has as its fundamental mission not only to train competent professionals, but also citizens committed to the environment. In this context, service to society becomes an essential pillar of its work, materializing in initiatives such as the Technical Assistance Advisory Program for micro and small businesses, PAME,” he emphasizes.

Following the statements, certificates were awarded to the students and beneficiaries.

Finally, on behalf of the Avanzar Foundation, Rosa Casajoana de Heredia expressed her gratitude to the university, saying, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the program and the entire university team for providing our female entrepreneurs with something of incalculable value. The genuine support and one-on-one consulting transform not only businesses, but also the lives of women who rise each day to build something of their own, something worthwhile, something that leaves a mark on their families and their communities.”

At the conclusion of the event, attendees participated in the discussion “Entrepreneurship with identity”, developed by José Vera, director of the PAME Program and Roberto Maldonado, CEO of Colineal.
